The Taurus Cedar belongs to the Gymnosperms, Coniferae class, Pinoideae order, Pinaceae family.
It is generally found in areas with a Mediterranean climate (Southern Anatolian maritime climate).
The Taurus Cedar can live up to 1000 years, reaching heights of up to 40 meters, diameters of up to 2 meters, and bark thickness of 35 cm during its long lifespan. It is a beautiful tree species with a pyramidal appearance when young, and a broad, flat crown and straight trunk when old.
It is used in furniture, joinery, building houses, telephone poles, construction and ship timber, and paper manufacturing.
